Can I use an eSIM on my current phone?
Updated over 2 months ago

eSIM technology has to be built into your phone from the factory - it's not something you can add with a software update. This means you can only use an eSIM on your current phone only if it’s eSIM compatible. Don't worry - almost all modern phones have it built-in.

eSIM Compatibility Guide:

  • If you've got an iPhone XS or later, you're good to go.

  • If you've got a Samsung Galaxy S20/Note 20, Z Fold/Flip, or any newer model then you have an eSIM enabled phone.

  • Google Pixel users, you're set if you've got a Pixel 3 or newer.

  • For less common phones, some Oppo Find X3/X5/N2, Honor Magic4 Pro 5G/Magic5, Sony Xperia 10 IV, and Xiaomi Mi 12T Pro models also support eSIM.

💁 If you’re not sure about your phone, your best bet is to check with the manufacturer or try checking online.
