Don't worry, this is a common issue after transferring your number. We've written a simple step-by-step guide that usually resolves the issue.

What to do:

  1. Set date and time to auto:

    • Go to Settings > General > Date and Time. Ensure your phone is set to automatic time and date, and automatic time zone.

  2. Reset iMessage:

    • Go to Settings > Messages and switch off iMessage. Then restart your phone.

    • When it’s back on check that your number is set correctly by going to Settings > Phone. Change it if it isn’t.

    • Lastly, turn iMessage back on by going to Settings > Messages again and toggling iMessage on.

  3. Reset your Apple ID.

    • Head to Settings > Messages > Send and Receive. Tap your Apple ID email and select "Sign Out".

    • Restart your phone.

    • Sign back into your Apple ID. Then, head to Settings → Messages → Send and Receive and tap "Use your Apple ID for iMessage".

  4. Check your carrier settings are updated:

    • Go to Settings > General > About. Stay on this screen for about 60 seconds.

    • If an update is available, you'll be prompted to install it.

⚠️ Unfortunately, if these steps don’t sort your issue it’s something wrong on your device. You’ll need to contact Apple Support so they can look into the issue.
